About James

After spending a number of years representing insurance companies in personal injury matters, Jim realized that trying to keep people who had been injured, and really needed the money, from getting paid by insurance companies just did not fit his personal moral code. This directed him to return to the plaintiff’s side by joining his father’s solo personal injury firm. Jim has since taken over the firm after his father retired.

Jim is a very seasoned and experienced trial lawyer, having conducted jury trials in multiple states both on behalf of injured people and defending insurance companies. Since he has represented both sides of personal injury claims, he has insider knowledge on how to best combat the insurance companies and protect the injured parties he represents. Jim is an aggressive and formidable opponent to insurance companies and a kindhearted legal advocate to work with as a client. He is prepared and qualified to expertly handle any personal injury claim, regardless of the complexities or severity of injury.

Jim is one of Minnesota’s most experienced no-fault arbitration attorneys, having handled several thousand hearings both on behalf of injured people and on behalf of insurance companies. He has also been on the panel of no-fault arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association since 1990 and has acted as the arbitrator on hundreds of matters since then.

Jim has been a high school hockey referee in the Twin Cities for over 30 years and has deep Minnesota sports roots. He is an avid golfer and huge sports fan.
